Ukraine asks partners to return interceptor missiles nearing end of service life - Foreign Ministry
Ukraine is negotiating the transfer of a number of interceptor missiles that are nearing the end of their service life, rather than having them disposed of.
“The Ukrainian side has managed to identify a number of interceptor missiles that will reach the end of their service life in the near future, which Ukraine could also acquire. We are currently engaged in active negotiations to obtain them, because what is the point of returning missiles to the manufacturer or disposing of them once they have reached the end of their service life?” said Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kyiv calls for urgent UN pressure on Russian as occupied Kherson region facing humanitarian catastrophe
“During a UN Security Council meeting on May 19, Ukraine informed member states that the humanitarian situation in Oleshky, Hola Prystan, Stara Zburivka, and Nova Zburivka has significantly deteriorated. According to Kyiv, there are effectively no conditions left to meet basic human needs, including for children,” said Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ukraine is calling on the United Nations and international partners to increase pressure on Russia to establish humanitarian corridors and enable the evacuation of civilians from temporarily occupied settlements in the Kherson region.
“Ukraine stresses that more than 6,000 people, including around 200 children, may be in need of humanitarian assistance. The majority of those remaining are people with limited mobility. More than 220 individuals have already requested evacuation from these settlements. Ukraine is calling on the UN Secretary-General and international partners to increase pressure on Russia to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law and to create the necessary conditions and humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians from these areas,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.

Ukraine, Finland agree to mutual quality guarantees for defense products
The Ukrainian and Finnish Ministries of Defense have signed an official memorandum on mutual quality assurance for military goods and services.
According to the ministry, the signed memorandum clearly defines how the regulatory bodies of one country will verify the quality of defense products at the request of the other in accordance with the common NATO standards STANAG 4107 / AQAP-2070.
From now on, if Ukraine orders products from a Finnish factory or vice versa, both sides will automatically recognize the quality inspection. There will be no need to repeat the same procedures.
Mutual trust in the inspection procedures will allow the necessary equipment to be delivered much faster directly to the front lines.
Military expert says Ukraine will be able to produce dozens of ballistic missiles per month
Ukraine could soon be capable of producing several dozen ballistic missiles per month, and “with that number of missiles, we can bring Russia’s military-industrial complex to its knees,” according to military expert Pavlo Narozhnyi.
"First of all, we have two tracks – state and private. The state program is well known: the Sapsan missile system. On the private side, there is Fire Point with its ballistic missile projects. Unfortunately, we know nothing about the state program, as no public information is available. The private company, however, has been relatively open and has stated that testing has already taken place," Narozhnyi said.
He added that the company is working on both a ballistic missile and a missile for an air defense system, which are technically very similar.
“The project involves a missile with a range of up to 900 kilometers and a warhead weighing up to 500 kilograms. In essence, this would be a direct counterpart to Russia’s Iskander-M or North Korea’s KN-23 missiles, which the enemy unfortunately uses against us and for which there are currently limited countermeasures,” he said.
